Just weeks ahead of Samsung's July 9 Unpacked event, detailed information about the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 has already leaked, leaving nothing to the imagination. Apparent "official" renders published by Android Headlines and confirmed by multiple outlets reveal both to have a new design language, slimmed-down profile, and upgraded hardware, setting the stage for Samsung's most refined foldable yet. Thinner, Stronger

Design According to recent leaks, the Galaxy Z Fold7 will feature an impressively thin chassis – measuring just 3.9mm compared to its previous model's 5.6mm – making it one of the thinnest foldables on the market. The renders also show a subtly redesigned rear camera housing that protrudes slightly more to accommodate a powerful 200MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide, and 10MP telephoto lenses with 10× optical zoom. Both the Fold7 and Flip7 are expected to come in Samsung's new "Blue Shadow" and classic "Jet Black" finishes, along with hints of aerospace-grade titanium framing, making it even more durable

Bigger, brighter display

The leak suggests the Z Fold7 will feature an 8-inch internal DynamicAMOLED2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness, as well as a 6.5-inch cover screen with similar specs that should deliver stunning, fluid visuals whether folded or unfolded. Meanwhile, the Z Flip7 appears to upgrade its cover display to a full-sized 4-inch panel – larger than the 3.4-inch one on the Flip6 – offering more room for notifications, widgets, and quick actions without opening the hinge

Camera upgrades and performance boosts

Under the hood, the Z Fold7 is tipped to run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, paired with up to 12 or 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS4.0 storage, ensuring flagship-level speed for multitasking, gaming, and AI-powered features. Photography enthusiasts can expect improvements to the Pro Visual Engine AI, which is rumoured to improve low-light performance, video stabilization, and digital zoom fidelity. The Flip7 is also expected to feature the same chipset, as well as a dual-camera setup like the Flip6, but will benefit from software-side AI enhancements

Rumored launch, software, and ecosystem

Samsung has officially teased an ultra-grade experience for its next foldable, but hasn’t confirmed the date — leaks unanimously point to its Summer Unpacked showcase on July 9, which will likely be held in New York City. Both devices will come with OneUI16 on top of Android 8.0, offering new Galaxy AI features such as real-time translation, advanced multitasking gestures, and the new S Pen integration for the Fold7’s expansive display

With ultra-slim profiles, big and bright screens, cutting-edge cameras, and flagship-grade internals, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 promise to push foldable technology forward. As the July 9 Unpacked date approaches, these leaks have set expectations high for Samsung's next-gen devices - now it remains to be seen if the final products live up to the hype. Stay tuned for our hands-on coverage and in-depth reviews once Samsung lifts the curtain.
